\"\"During 9th and 10th July, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH)<\/strong> welcomed<\/strong> the Secretary General of the European University of Brain and Technology (NeurotechEU), Mark Vlek de Coningh, along with the Alliance Coordinator<\/strong>, Richard van Wezel<\/strong>. This visit underscores the UMH’s role as a member of this alliance of European universities dedicated to creating a transnational neurotechnology campus. Mr Vlek de Coningh and Mr Van Wezel were received by the UMH rector, Juan Jos\u00e9 Ruiz; <\/strong>the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Cooperation, Vicente Micol<\/strong>; the Vice-Rector for Studies, Susana Fern\u00e1ndez de \u00c1vila<\/strong>; the Director of the International Relations Service, Inmaculada Blaya<\/strong>, and the NeurotechEU lead at UMH and Director of the Institute of Neurosciences (UMH-CSIC), Juana Gallar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the aim of strengthening collaborative ties, reviewing project progress, and outlining future strategies within the NeurotechEU framework<\/strong>, the Secretary General and Alliance Coordinator attended a series of meetings with the Alliance’s management team at the UMH. The NeurotechEU management team at the UMH comprises project managers Maria Jos\u00e9 Such<\/strong>, an expert in quality assurance, and Sonia Mart\u00edn<\/strong>; finance manager Alicia Sanavio<\/strong>; student activities manager Sandra Manzanero<\/strong>; and communication officer J\u00falia Santacreu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the meeting was attended by UMH staff involved in promoting mobility among the alliance’s partner universities: the Deputy Vice-Rector for Institutional Positioning and Rankings, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Blanes<\/strong>; the Deputy Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Alberto Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>; and the International Mobility Expert, M\u00f3nica Candela<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the visit, they also met with various UMH professors involved in creating NeurotechEU’s teaching content<\/strong>: Physiology professors Mar\u00eda del Carmen Acosta<\/strong>, Francisco Martini<\/strong>, and V\u00edctor Meseguer<\/strong>; Physiotherapy professor and Director of the Translational Research Centre in Physiotherapy, Mar\u00eda del Carmen Lillo<\/strong>; and Systems Engineering professors Eduardo I\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/strong> and Mario Ortiz<\/strong>. They also visited the Institute of Neurosciences, guided by researchers Santiago Canals<\/strong> and Silvia De Santis<\/strong>; and the Brain-Machine Interface Systems Lab, with Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Azor\u00edn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To conclude their visit, Mr Vlek de Coningh and Mr Van Wezel had the opportunity to speak with the Rector’s Delegate for Digital Transformation, Federico Botella<\/strong>, who contributes to the development of Campus+, NeurotechEU’s educational platform, and with the Rector’s Delegate for Healthy Campuses and Sport, Ra\u00fal Reina<\/strong>, who participates in NeurotechEU’s equality, diversity, and integration activities.<\/p>\n

Finally, to gain a better understanding of some of the UMH’s services, the Secretary General and NeurotechEU Coordinator visited the Cyborg Centre with its director, Fernando Borr\u00e1s<\/strong>, and the Scientific Park with Oleksiy Oprysnyk,<\/strong> technician of the Business Growth Area at the Scientific Park.<\/p>\n
