\"\"One of NeurotechEU\u2019s collective ambitions is to accelerate responsible neuro-innovation that benefits people and society across Europe. Within this framework, NeurotechEU aims to strengthen collaboration inside and outside the alliance and to devise a technology-transfer strategy that turns neurotechnological advances into high-impact applications for Europe\u2019s society and economy. As part of this objective, the Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i \u00dcniversitesi (BOUN, Turkey), a member of The European University of Brain and Technology\u2013NeurotechEU, hosted the NeurotechEU 2025 Neuroinnovation Summit. With the topic \u201cA Strategic Roadmap for NeurotechEU: Evidence-Based Knowledge and Technology Co-Production\u201d, from 25-28 September 2025, representatives from Universidad Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez de Elche (UMH) and other universities in the alliance, as well as stakeholders, have met to discuss how to translate the findings of WorkPackage 4 team, \u2018Common Policies and Strategy Development\u2019, into a strategic roadmap that will guide research agendas, joint educational programs, and policy dialogues in the years to come.<\/p>\n

UMH has been represented by the leader of NeurotechEU at UMH and Director of the Institute for Neuroscience UMH-CSIC, Juana Gallar, who was accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Rector for Research Management, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Azor\u00edn; the director of the Centre for Translational Research in Physiotherapy, Maria del Carmen Lillo; and the UMH representative on the NeurotechEU Student Council, Jorge Maldonado. The UMH delegation was completed by Pablo Belmonte Brissoire, Chief Executive Officer of the UMH spin-off company Newmanbrain.<\/p>\n

During this two-and-a-half-day event, attendees worked on translating what has been found into actions according to different targets. The NeurotechEU Summit was organized into keynote sessions, panel discussions, lightning talks, and parallel working sessions. Gallar moderated two sessions and gave the lightning talk entitled: \u201cFrom Basic Science to the End-User: An FDA-Approved Drug & a Diagnostic Device”. Azor\u00edn presented the talk \u201cLessons Learned from Clinical Tests of BCI Systems and Exoskeletons\u201d. Lillo, co-author of the document central to the Summit, participated in the \u201cUnderstanding Societal Challenges: Applications and Social Initiatives\u201d discussion panel. Belmonte presented the evolution of his company as an example in the \u201cTranslation into Industry: Challenges, Opportunities, and Success Stories\u201d Nanosymposium.<\/p>\n

The Neuroinnovation Summit is one of the activities that NeurotechEU organizes yearly as a European Alliance committed to promoting the education and training of future professionals and researchers in the field of neurotechnology in an innovative and up-to-date way. The NeurotechEU Alliance currently includes eight European universities: Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands), UMH, Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), University of Bonn (Germany), Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University (Turkey), Iuliu Ha\u021bieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Romania), University of Lille (France), and Reykjavik University (Iceland).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
