\"VIII<\/span>With the goal of strengthening the integration of the European University of Brain and Technology \u2013NeurotechEU, the Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University (Turkey), a member of this European alliance, has organized the second Board of Rectors of 2024 in Istanbul. Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH) was represented by the vice-rector for Internationalisation and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, and the leader of the project at UMH and director of the Institute of Neurosciences (UMH-CSIC), Juana Gallar.<\/p>\n

Micol and Gallar were accompanied by the director of the International Relations, Development Cooperation, and Volunteering Service, Inmaculada Blaya, who is also a member of the Governing Board of the NeurotechEU Alliance. Additionally, the director of the Centre for Translational Research in Physiotherapy, Maria del Carmen Lillo, attended as an active participant in the work package focused on empowering students and staff.<\/p>\n

The university delegation included the Rector\u2019s delegate for Healthy Campuses and member of the working group on equal opportunities and integration, Ra\u00fal Reina; the Rector\u2019s delegate for Digital Transformation, Federico Botella, an active member of the working group for NeurotechEU\u2019s Campus+ educational platform; the deputy Vice-Rector for Institutional Positioning and Rankings, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Blanes, a member of the work package promoting mobility among partner universities in the alliance; and researcher from UMH\u2019s Brain Machine Interface Systems laboratory, Eduardo I\u00e1\u00f1ez, who is involved in the workgroup dedicated to developing the alliance\u2019s academic program in neurotechnology. Also attending the Board of Rectors were project managers Maria Jos\u00e9 Such, an expert in quality assurance, and Sonia Mart\u00edn, along with communications officer J\u00falia Santacreu.<\/p>\n

In parallel, the second edition of the NeurotechEU Hackathon took place, with participation from Desir\u00e9e Garcia, a representative of the Synapses Club formed by UMH students in NeurotechEU, and the winner of UMH\u2019s 3-Minute Thesis Competition, Jesica Mart\u00ednez<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The NeurotechEU European alliance aims to provide the scientific community with a center of higher education and research focused on neurotechnology, with the objective of addressing health issues related to neuroscience and mental health through affordable technologies. In addition to UMH, the NeurotechEU alliance includes seven other universities: Radboud University (Netherlands), Karolinska Institute (Sweden), University of Bonn (Germany), Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University (Turkey), Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), University of Lille (France), and Reykjavik University (Iceland).<\/p>\n
