From the European University of Brain and Technology, NeurotechEU, we would like to congratulate Juana Gallar on her new position as Director of the Institute of Neurosciences, a joint centre of Miguel Hernández University of Elche – a NeurotechEU member – and the Spanish National Research Council (an associate member of the Alliance).

The NeurotechEU leader at UMH has dedicated more than 40 years to studying the sensory and autonomic nervous system in ocular functions. Additionally, Gallar maintains an active presence in international scientific societies, serving as Treasurer of the European Vision and Eye Research (EVER) and Vice President of the International Society for Eye Research (ISER).

Her career and commitment to science, the training of young researchers, the promotion of science among women, and public outreach make the NeurotechEU team proud of this well-deserved recognition.
