Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback: Translating Evidence into Practice

Mobilities

16 February 2026

With the aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice, the allied universities of the European University of Brain and Technology (NeurotechEU), Háskólinn í Reykjavík (Iceland), Radboud University (The Netherlands), and Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) organize the Summer School on “Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback: Translating Evidence into Practice”.

This blended course offers a comprehensive introduction to Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, with a particular emphasis on Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Designed for Master’s and Doctoral students in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Health Technology/Biomedical Engineering, this program enables students to measure, interpret, and apply psychophysiological signals to enhance mental performance and well-being.

  • Date: From 21 May to 17 June, 2026 (Online: 21-31 May and 6-17 June. In person: 1-5 June)

The curriculum explores the science of autonomic regulation alongside practical interventions—such as resonance breathing and compassion-based practices—while addressing the ethical design of such applications. Through a combination of rigorous theoretical study and hands-on laboratory work, participants will investigate how Heart Rate Variability influences mental states, culminating in an applied capstone project focused on health and performance.
