10 April 2026

On 16 April at 16:00 CET, an online seminar organised by NeurotechEU member university Reykjavik University (Háskólinn í Reykjavík – HR; Iceland) will take place: Reinventing Amlodipine: A Drug Discovery Journey. In this seminar, the speaker, Professor Karl Ægir Karlsson from the HR Department of Engineering, will explore the repositioning of amlodipine —a drug widely used to treat high blood pressure— as a potential treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The talk will highlight how the analysis of its efficacy across various species, genetics, and pharmacology have been combined to uncover unexpected findings and develop a mechanistic framework to support the translation of basic research into human studies.
