Quality Assurance (QA) is far more than a mere supervisory process; it is the fundamental pillar ensuring the long-term sustainability and trust in our alliance’s joint educational premises. With the ambition of transforming strategic goals into measurable results, the European University of Brain and Technology – NeurotechEU is set to host the staff training event ‘Alliance QA Policy Development’. The meeting will take place on April 21-22, 2026, at the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche.

Over two intensive days, members of the NeurotechEU task force for ‘Alliance Final QA Policy Development’ will explore best practices across the wider European University Initiative ecosystem. The workshop is designed as a space for guided dialogue, grounded in the latest advancements in higher education. A key backdrop for exploring the evolution of the existing QA policy context in the European University Initiatives will be the Council Recommendation of 12 May 2025 on a European quality assurance and recognition system in higher education (C/2025/3006). This framework serves as a vital backdrop for evolving NeurotechEU’s existing QA policy, drawing on lessons from the 73 European University alliances on “suitable” QA policies.

Moreover, the purpose of this training is to set the baseline that will be assessed and discussed with key stakeholders across the alliance, including students as active contributors. Participants, in collaboration with the NeurotechEU Secretary General, will work towards consolidating the Final NeurotechEU QA Policy, resulting in a formal proposal to guide the next phase of the Alliance’s development.

This meeting in Elche represents a significant step in a broader roadmap of conversations, ensuring that NeurotechEU remains at the forefront of excellence and innovation in European higher education.
